AJK 50 on Deck for CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series

(Halifax, NS – August 22, 2023) –Well, Mother Nature struck yet again last Friday, but the CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series is set to return to the oval this Friday night at 7:00pm. Fans will be treated to high-octane racing from the Strictly Hydraulics Legends, Toursec Ministocks, Maritime Auto Glass Bandoleros and the Bay Equipment Rentals Sportsman will compete in the Third Annual AJK 50.

The Third Annual AJK 50 is a marquee event for the Bay Equipment Rentals Sportsman. With a purse of $6,000 on the line for the Sportsman drivers as they race in memory of Alex Kocken, this race carries not only an increased purse courtesy of Miller Brothers Racing and several supporters but the prestige of becoming an AJK 50 winner.

Pete Miller (Kennetcook, NS) is not only one of the race organizers, but he leads the Bay Equipment Rentals Sportsman standings and is the reigning champion of the race. In six CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series events in 2023, the Bay Equipment Rentals Sportsman have seen six different winners including Miller, sophomores Jesse Deveau (Greenwood) and Dylan Dowe (Bedford), Alex Johnson (Enfield), veteran Sheldon Pemberton (Dartmouth) and former track champion Russell Smith Jr (Lakeside).

Miller leads Deveau by 15 points in the Sportsman championship chase after six events with Andrew Lively (Middle Sackville), Kyle Bent (Berwick) and Dowe completing the top five to date on the season.

Adult Grandstand tickets for the CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series are $20.00, Youth tickets (8-15yrs) are $5.00. 7 and under are FREE all season at Scotia Speedworld events! Tickets for the Pit area are $25.00. Tickets for the CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series are available at the gates on race day.

The Turn One Beer Garden will also be open this Friday Night - So grab some friends and head to the track for a cold one and a great night of heart pounding racing excitement!
