August 11 Update: We have postponed racing on Friday, August 14th until Friday August 21st.  We will run all divisions then.

Those who had registered for this Friday, do not have to re-registered. If those in on your original registration will be different next week, contact the Office to make required changes.  If you can’t race next week, please contact Office to let us know.

We have reduced the entry to $25.oo and will have trophies. We underestimated the importance of trophies.

The calendar tells us we are in the waning days of the racing season, but we have not been on the track yet. Well, that is going to change!

Scotia Speedworld will present the CARSTAR Weekly Racing series starting on Friday, August 21, 2020. Yes 2020! Racing will continue through to Friday, September 11, 2020. There are no rain dates.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions on the number of people gathering, the Main Grandstands will be closed. The Pit area will be for drivers, crews and reduced Scotia Speedworld staff only. Everyone in the Pit area must wear a mask and social distancing. Crew members are to disinfect tools after each use, if used by more than one person. Public Health has created these rules and we want to do our part fighting the Pandemic by following them.

The Public Health restriction on the number of people that can gather outside, has forced us to change some things. Drivers will receive the normal payout, trophies will be given out; however, Points will not be awarded. Ticket price is $25 per person.

2020 Registered teams must register by Email to Marilyn Mason at admin@scotiaspeedworld.ca by Monday noon of each race week. Each team can register four people (includes driver). We can accept 225 drivers and crew. The remaining portion of the 250 will be Staff. The names and contact numbers for the four people must accompany the registration request. Successful entries will receive confirmation from Marilyn. Full payment must be received by us before Wednesday at noon of the race week. E-Transfer is the preferred method of payment as it is a touchless process. Registrations will be accepted to ensure each division has a suitable number of entrants. I.E. one division has three cars registered and another has 20 cars.

Sportsman cars, Strictly Hydraulics Legend cars, TOURSEC Thunder and Lightning cars and Bandolero Cars will race with ALL divisions racing each week.

Race dates are:
Friday, Aug 21
Friday, Aug 28
Friday, Sep 4
Friday, Sep 11

Pit Gate opens at 4:30 pm, with racing starting at 7:00 pm.

Asphalt Pit Stalls for Sportsman and Legend cars will be provided on a “first come first serve” basis on race day, for those who desire asphalt. Keep in mind we have less spots available because of self distancing requirements.

Attention Legend & Bandolero Drivers: Scotia Speedworld will not require Legend or Bandolero drivers to have a 2020 INEX Registration for the four races from Aug 14 until Sep 11 at Scotia Speedworld.

Our understanding is if you have already purchased a 2020 registration, INEX will allow you a credit it for 2021. Contact INEX for complete details.

Scotia Speedworld wants to provide our teams with some racing in the 2020. The goal is to allow the teams to race and meet obligations they may have with their sponsors. It is also a salute to our sponsors who have stuck with us during this pandemic. Monetarily speaking, no one would plan for a season like we are experiencing. No one dreamed we would be still under these restrictions when COVID-19 hit back in the spring. We are playing the hand that was dealt to us. We will race for the love of the sport and the thrill of competing and to kick COVID-19 in the rear-end.
