When it appeared that Shelby Chisholm (Antigonish) was going to kick off the season with three consecutive feature wins, Addison Veinotte (Porters Lake) changed the headline en route to her first feature win at Scotia Speedworld.
Chisholm took home the heat race and was in control of the 12-lap Bluenose Pools Beginner Bandolero feature until a misstep in lapped traffic caused Chisholm to spin after contact, sending the No. 12 to the back of the field with four to go.
The final restart came with three laps to go, and Veinotte was lights out en route to her first win, pulling out to a three car length lead at the finish. Brandon McGrath (Antigonish) was second with Jake Campbell (Sydney) third – the second podium runs for both drivers in 2024. Sarah Vandenburg (Lower Onslow) scored her first top five effort with a fourth place run while Chisholm would race her way back to fifth at the finish.
Chisholm maintains an eight point lead over Veinotte heading into Race Four on Friday.

In a race described by many as one of the best Four Cylinder races seen at Scotia Speedworld in over a decade, the Toursec Mini Stock drivers displayed another caution free affair with their biggest fields in years as 27 cars took the green flag.
It might only be fitting that one of the best drivers over the past ten years at Scotia Speedworld in the division took home the checkered flag. Travis Keefe (Chester) took his first win of 2024 after a subpar start to the first two races of the year. Keefe started 11th and by Lap Nine he was in fourth within a tight pack of eight led by Barry Black. Black won his heat race and started up front before being sandwiched in a three wide move on Lap 11 of the feature. Dylan MacMillan (Maitland) took the lead on Lap 12 but it was the next lap where Keefe would make the winning pass.
Behind Keefe, it was far from over. Chris McMullin, who also did not have the best of races during Surge 105 Night, was in the thick of the battle for the lead prior to halfway and would rebound to finish second on the evening. He was chased to the line by two former track champions in Ross Moore (Lake Egmont) and Dave Matthews (Nine Mile River). Steven Matthews (Bedford) returned to the track for the first time in 2024 to finish fifth.
Black, Tim Hortons at the Airport Rookie Peter Brown (Antrim) and McMullin captured heat wins.
Moore leads Keefe and McMullin in the points chase as they head to Race Four this Friday night.

In a race that looked like it would be Nathan Langille (Coldbrook) holding the checkered flag, it ended up being his brother Josh taking the win in a late race turn of events.
Nathan and Chase MacKay (Bear Cove) put on a show for the top spot following a restart shy of halfway. The battle expired ten laps later with two laps remaining when Langille, going for the lead, made contact with MacKay, sending the No. 71 spinning and both to the back of the field.
The final restart saw Josh Langille take command with challenges from Caden Tufts (Timberlea) in the last two laps. Tufts let Langille know he was there on the final lap, but it wasn’t enough to deny the No. 18 his first win of 2024. Tufts and Gage Gilby (Enfield) joined Langille on the podium.
Campbell Delaney (Halifax) and Ayden Christensen (Windsor Junction) completed the top five in the 25-car field.
Josh Langille, Nathan Langille and Tufts took home heat wins.
The Strictly Hydraulics Legends return for their INEX National Qualifier on Friday night, June 7th.

The path to victory lane was a windy one that saw many twists and turns for Russell Smith Sr. (Lakeside)
After a flat tire on Lap Three, Smith Sr began his charge back to the front of the Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman field. Starting eighth on a Lap 19 restart, it appeared that fourth be all that the No. 44 could muster over the green flag run.
That is – until the top three got to racing.
With three to go, Dylan Dowe (Bedford) tried to make the move on Alex Johnson (Enfield) for the win. Slight contact slowed their momentum, allowing Jeffrey Breen (Antigonish) to go to the outside of both, pulling even with Johnson for the lead with two to go. The pair went side-by-side around Scotia Speedworld before they would come together off Turn Four coming to the white flag. The pair spun into the infield and bringing out the race’s final caution and a green-white-checkered finish.
Dowe would line up alongside Smith Sr on the final restart and Smith was not to be denied on the outside to take home his second straight win in Halifax. Dowe was second with Kyle Bent (Berwick) completing the podium. Darren Hilchie (Lake Charlotte) and Dan Cameron (New Glasgow) scored their best runs of the season by finishing fourth and fifth.
Cameron and Smith Sr. won heat races.
The Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman return for the 29th Shriners Classic on Friday, June 14th.
