Shelby Chisholm (Antigonish) picked up where she left off one week ago by capturing her second straight Bluenose Pools Beginner feature win.

After a caution on the first lap, Chisholm would have Jake Campbell (Sydney) settle in behind the Keltic Ford/Nova Construction Bandolero. As the race went on, Chisholm would pull away from the No. 38, taking the win by a half straightaway after 12-laps. Campbell would finish second while Addison Veinotte (Porters Lake) took her first podium finish of 2024 with a third place effort. The 2023 Tim Hortons at the Airport Rookie of the Year Ryder Smith (Wellington) was fourth with current rookie Ryan Chisholm (Antigonish) taking home his best finish of the early season in fifth.

Shelby Chisholm was the heat race winner. She will take the point lead into CKG Elevator Night on Friday, June 1st.

With Hailey Bland (Lakeview) away at a volleyball tournament in Edmonton, Alberta, Bandolero Super Sub Dawson Noble (Upper Nine Mile River) slid into the No. 27 car on Friday and drove it to victory lane. Noble, who led the first half of the Halifax 300 in 2023 for Landon Pierce (Bridgewater), ironically had to hold off the Plum Crazy Bandolero for the victory on Friday night.

While Noble started first by virtue of his heat win, Pierce started the 15-lap feature in seventh. After a Lap One restart, Noble pulled away from the field while Bella Pashkoski (Beaver Bank) and Avery DeCoste (Antigonish) battled for second with Pierce. Pashkoski held off Pierce up to the halfway point when the caution flew for a spin by Ethan Hicken (New Glasgow). Pierce would get by Pashkoski on Lap 10 but would not be able to run down the No. 27 Dartmouth Metals Bandolero for the win.

Pashkoski was third with DeCoste and Bristol Matthews (Nine Mile River) in fifth.

Noble took home the heat race win. After two races, the No. 27 car leads the Bluenose Pools Bandolero points.

It was a blast from the past as Tim Wright (Middle Stewiacke) doubled down on Friday night to take home his first Toursec Mini Stock feature triumph. Wright, who competed in Dukes for five seasons in the early 90s, started fourth on the 22-car field on Friday and passed Chevy MacDonald (Stewiacke) for the lead on Lap Four. It was a lead Wright would ultimately not relinquish en route to the popular victory.

The final restart happened on Lap 13 of the 25-lap feature, and the landscape behind Wright would change several times before the checkered flag flew. Peter Brown (Antrim), who won his first heat race earlier in the evening, ran second for most of the feature in a throwback scheme to his grandfather Larry and mother Marie’s racing ride. Chris Drover (Middle Sackville) and Ross Moore (Lake Egmont), both with Nova Scotia track championships on their resumes, passed Brown in the waning laps with Moore getting by Drover for second. Brown held on to fourth with Darren Hodder grabbing fifth at the finish.

Brown, Wright and Mitch Hopkins captured heat race wins. Drover and Moore are tied for the championship point lead after two races.

Ayden Christensen (Windsor Junction) fought the wall with his Legend car and while the wall left a mark, it did not slow down Christensen.

Christensen captured his first win at home after starting ninth in a 24-car field. After a couple early yellows, Christensen was battling for third on the outside of Chase MacKay (Bear Cove) on Lap Eight when Christensen grazed the outside wall on the back straight. With paint up the right side, it did not slow the No. 24 car one iota. The winning pass was made in the final five laps when Dawson Noble (Upper Nine Mile River) missed his marks in Turn One enough for Christensen to get under and run to the win.

Owen Mahar (Hubley) took the final podium position in the 25-lap feature. MacKay and Josh Langille (Coldbrook) rounded out the top five.

Langille, Christensen and Brayden Wadden (Hammonds Plains) took home heat wins. For Wadden, it was his first qualifier win in a Legend car.

Mahar and Christensen are tied for the championship point lead after two races. They race Friday night during CKG Elevator Night.

You always find your way back home – and Russell Smith Sr. (Lakeside) found his way back on Friday night to Scotia Speedworld and The Tire Man Victory Lane!

Senior started second in the 16 car field and raced to the lead on the outside of Jeffrey Breen (Antigonish) and held court up front over a 26-lap green flag run and a green, white, checkered finish which decided the 40-lap feature. Breen held on to second over Dylan Dowe (Bedford), who made an impressive outside move on the No. 96 of Scott O’Neill during the green flag run in the middle stages of the race. Brentley Pirri (Three Fathom Harbour) edged out Deven Smith (Lakeside), who was subbing in for Pete Miller (Kennetcook) for the fourth place spot.

Breen and Alex Johnson (Enfield) took home heat wins.

Dylan Dowe assumes the point lead after two races.
