In the most exciting finish of the night, Adlee Lively (Middle Sackville) picked the pocket of the leaders and captured her first checkered flag in her young racing career.

After several restarts throughout the event, the time limit flag was displayed under caution with two laps to go in the 12-lap feature. Jake Campbell (Sydney) and Ryan Chisholm (Antigonish) assumed the lead for the final restart after synchronized spins by Shelby Chisholm (Antigonish) and Brandon McGrath (Antigonish) coming to the white flag.

Coming to the white flag under the time flag, Ryan Chisholm was able to get the lead away from Campbell in Turn Four. The two would make contact for the lead in Turn Two, sending both of them up to the wall and collecting Shelby Chisholm. Through the calamity, Lively was able to drive through to the checkered flag. Addison Veinotte (Porters Lake) was second with Ryder Smith (Wellington) finishing third. Sarah Vandenburg (Lower Onslow) and McGrath completed the top five.

Combined with her feature finish and heat win, Veinotte has tied Shelby Chisholm for point lead after five races.

After three years of trying, Bella Pashkoski (Beaver Bank) is a feature winner at Scotia Speedworld.

In a caution free affair, Pashkoski led wire-to-wire in the 15-lap feature. Behind her, the action was intense as Ethan Hicken (New Glasgow) and Landon Pierce (Bridgewater) went back and forth for the runner-up spot with Hicken, who made several saves out of the final corner, taking home second. Hailey Bland (Lakeview) was fourth after a spirited battle with Avery DeCoste (Antigonish).

Pashkoski picked up the heat race win and also the point lead heading into Fafest on Friday.

In an emotional victory lane, it was Caden Tufts (Timberlea) capturing his first win in Halifax since Bandoleros in the Strictly Hydraulics Legends victory lane. Tufts, a winner on the Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends Tour at Oyster Bed Speedway and an INEX Asphalt Nationals competitor in Las Vegas in 2023, has been putting together an impressive racing resume but a Legend feature win at his home track was missing – until Friday night.

It appeared it would be Campbell Delaney’s (Halifax) night as he led the most laps in the 25-lap feature but it was Tufts on a three-wide move would take the lead away from Delaney. As the No. 9 slid back in the middle from the Lap 18 move, Tufts would face challenges from Josh Langille (Coldbrook) and Colton Noble (Upper Nine Mile River) but would be good on the final restart with two laps to go to take the victory.

Langille would best Noble for second with Chase MacKay (Bear Cove) and Delaney in the top five.

MacKay, Kelsey Hann (New Glasgow) and Emily Chisholm (Antigonish) would pick up heat wins. For Chisholm, it was her first checkered flag in a Legend car.

Deven Smith (Lakeside) is now a four time Shriners Classic Champion.

Smith, the 2019, 2021 and 2022 champion of the race, started 14th in the 26 car field and took the lead from Brady Creamer (Miramichi, NB) on a restart on Lap 22 of the 75-lap feature. The last caution in the event was on Lap 34 and Smith was able to establish almost a full straightaway gap on the battle for the runner-up spot at the end of the feature.

The battle for second was a fierce one as Russell Smith Sr (Lakeside) felt pressure in the waning laps from Creamer. They completed the podium but if the race was any longer or a caution would have flown, chances are Alex Johnson (Enfield) would have had something to say. Johnson had one of the fastest cars on track in the last third of the event but ran out of laps, ultimately finishing on Creamer’s bumper in fourth. Fifth belonged to 2023 event winner Pete Miller (East Gore).

“Herman” started on the pole of the Classic after he won the first of three heat races on the night. Wade Slauenwhite (Beaver Bank) was joined by Andrew Lively (Middle Sackville) and Johnson as heat race winners.

With Dylan Dowe (Bedford) finishing tenth on the night, his point lead shrinks to two over Smith Sr. after four races in the Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman division.
