Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series Ready for The Laker News Night

(Halifax, NS – July 11, 2024) The Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series returns this Friday night at 7:00pm. Our friends from The Laker News, who are media partners with Scotia Speedworld will be joining us at the track, as well as our Victory Lane sponsor The Tire Man, so be sure to head to Scotia tomorrow night! Grandstand gates open at 5:00pm.

On the eve of the Mid-Season Break, the hard working cars and stars of the Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series will search for bragging rights and checkered flag to put an exclamation point on the first half of 2024.

The Bluenose Pools Bandoleros will see two features on the evening, one being heldover from last Friday’s rainout. The Bluenose Pools Beginners, Toursec Mini Stocks, Strictly Hydraulics Legends and Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman will also complete the full card of racing. The Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman have a $300 bounty on the line for any driver that wins Friday’s feature that is not named Smith. Russell Smith Sr and his son Deven (Lakeside) have won all seven Sportsman feature races contested at Scotia Speedworld this season. The bounty has been posted by On Site Heavy Duty Rust Control.

As a special treat on The Laker News Night, longtime Speedworld voice and Maritime Motorsports Hall of Famer Mike Kaplan will return to call the racing action with Tim Terry and “Rational” Richard Drake. Among his accomplishment in his career, Kaplan spent two decades as the announcer at Scotia Speedworld.

Admission for the Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series is $20 for adults, $5 for youth (8-15yrs), children seven and under are free all season at Scotia Speedworld! For more information, please visit www.scotiaspeedworld.ca
