Hudson Ruff (Long Reach, NB) added his name to the list of winners at Scotia Speedworld with his first victory in the Maritime Auto Glass Bandolero division. Ruff had to hold off the field on a green-white-checkered finish which pushed the race one lap past the scheduled 12-lap distance.

It appeared that Ruff would have his hands full with a determined McKenna Little (Williamswood), who came from the back of the field with three laps to go, but Ruff held off all challengers for his first Halifax win.

Bristol Matthews (Kennetcook) was able to hold off the advances of Little to hold on to her best Scotia Speedworld finish in second. Little was third, followed by Jack Reid (Fort McMurray, AB) in his first career Bandolero start and Andrew O’Connor (PE), in his first Scotia Speedworld start.

Ruff and Little scored heat race wins in a season high, and what is believed to be a division record at the track, 11-car Beginner Bandolero field.

The Maritime Auto Glass Beginner Bandoleros return on Friday for Round Three of the 2023 season.

Another week, another exciting race for the youngsters of Scotia Speedworld as the Maritime Auto Glass Bandoleros saw another first time winner.

Daniel Vandenburg (Lower Onslow) captured the win after starting sixth in the ten car field and third on the final restart with five laps to go.

For a second straight week, Brett Pashkoski (Beaver Bank) led the most laps in the feature, but Vandenburg was not to be denied, making the pass out of Turn Four coming to the white flag.

Landon Pierce (Bridgewater) was able to slip by Pashkoski for the runner-up spot with Hailey Bland (Lakeview) and Avery DeCoste (Antigonish) completing the top five.

Heat wins in the ten car field went to Pashkoski and Vandenburg.

The Maritime Auto Glass Bandoleros return on June 23rd for Fanfest.

Whether it’s two 25-lap segments, 50-laps, 100-laps, whatever the case – Steven Matthews (Fall River) continues to prove why he is “Mr. Lightning on the Hill,” as he took the win in the Mini Stock 50 on Friday night.
Travis Keefe (Chester) went wire-to-wire in the first 25-lap segment from the pole position.  Keefe won the low handicap heat after a hub broke from the No. 45 car the previous Friday night. He would put a gap on Kyle Sinton (Truro), who would not appear for the second half of the feature due to a mechanical problem on his No. 8 car. Dave Matthews (Kennetcook) moved to second on the Lap 26 restart and after chasing Keefe for a handful of laps, Matthews would move to the outside and the duo would race side by side for almost ten laps.

With 11 laps to go, Keefe and Matthews would make contact going into Turn One after Matthews had appeared to clear Keefe going into the first corner. The contact resulted in a flat tire for Keefe and lost momentum for the No. 99 car. Steven Matthews had been shadowing the battle for ten laps after restarting from the halfway break in fourth and was able to get around the pair on the high side as they collected themselves from the Lap 40 mishap. The dayglo No. 198 never looked back en route to his first win of the year in his first start. Dave Matthews held on to second with Ross Moore (Lake Egmont) getting third for his second podium run in as many races. Fourth belonged to Chad Sinton (Truro) with Mitchell Hopkins (Beaver Bank) scoring his first top five run of the year with a fifth place finish.

Keefe and “Big Daddy” Kenny Hopper (Elmsdale) scored wins in heat race competition to set the field.

Dave Matthews maintains the point lead as the Toursec Mini Stocks are back in action Friday night for INEX Night.

After nearly four years of being away, Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) hopped back in the seat of a Legend car and showed the field how it was done at Scotia Speedworld.

Hall took the lead in the feature on Lap 14 after starting fourth in the 24-car field. Hall made the pass on Gage Gilby (Enfield), and while Gilby would get close to Hall on a green-white-checkered finish, it was not enough to get past Hall for the win.

Colton Noble (Upper Nine Mile River) joined the two on the podium after making changes to his No. 03 car over the week.

Fourth belonged to Ayden Christensen (Windsor Junction), who was the top Tim Hortons at the Airport Rookie of the race, while Season Opener winner Josh Langille (Coldbrook) was fifth.

Gilby, Hall and Noble took home the three heat races to qualify for the event.

The Strictly Hydraulics Legends will compete on Friday in their INEX National Qualifier.
