(Halifax, NS- June, 30 2021) The CARSTAR Weekly Racing series fires up Friday night at Scotia Speedworld for the first time this season. Another year living with COVID-19 could not keep the cars and stars from the track. Race time is 7:00 pm. Pit gates open at 4:00 pm, while the Grandstand’s gates open at 5:00 pm.
All CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series divisions will be in action. The Fleet Brake Atlantic Sportsman cars, Strictly Hydraulics Legend cars, TOURSEC Thunder & Lightning cars and Bandoleros will all be on track, with drivers trying to get the drop on the competition right out of the gate.
The Grandstands will be opened to allow fans to watch all the racing action. The grandstands will be configured into four sections with 150 people permitted in each section. Tickets will be available at the ticket booths on Friday. Per Public Health protocols, social distancing between bubbles is required and fans need to wear a mask moving about the facility. Grandstand sections 1 and 2 are one section, section 3 is a section, as is section 4 and section 5. Ticket prices are the same as last year.
Ticket booths for each area are located as follows. Section 1 and 2 at the top of the Gate hill. Section 3 ticket booth is located at the left-hand side of the Tower building when looking from the parking lot. Ticket booth for Section 3 and 4 is in the breezeway. Section 5’s ticket booth is next to the Halifax Shopping Center sign. We will have staff in the parking lot to guide you to the area of your choice.
The Pit Ticket Booths will be used for Pit entry. Those who had a paved pit stall will have that spot again this year if you want it.
COVID rules for the pits are the same as last year. Face masks are mandatory. If you are in your trailer or pit box you do not require a mask. Step outside of either area, you need a mask. Any common tools used by the crew needs to be sanitized before the next person uses it. Safe distancing while outside your pit.
The Pit canteen will be open as usual. The Grandstand canteen will not be open. The short period of time between when we learned we were able to open the grandstands to a maximum 600 people, we were past the order date from our food supplier. Fans can bring their own, as usual. Just no glass containers please.
Can’t make it to the track to see the CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series Opener? No problem! Tim’s Corner Motorsports TV will have a video crew at Scotia Speedworld to air the event. You can watch the races LIVE or On-Demand following the event by heading to www. TimsCorner.tv and getting your Event Pass.
As always we will have Pat keeping everyone up to date on Twitter @SSWracing powered this season by CKG Elevator.
We would like to thank the teams and fans for their patience and support as we worked with Public Health to open the track. Friday night is the first night we can host fans in the grandstands. It is up to us collectively and individually to follow all protocols to ensure we race for the remainder of the season.
See you all Friday night.
