DOUBLE HEADER WEEKEND BEGINS FRIDAY WITH AMP ENERGY NIGHT

(Halifax, NS. June 19, 2013) Scotia Speedworld’s Weekly Racing Series is gearing up for AMP Energy Night this Friday! The event kicks off a two day weekend at Scotia Speedworld, which will feature the Lockhart Truck Center 150 on Saturday night for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Four divisions will face off on the 3/10 mile oval on Friday evening at 7: 00 PM, including the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros, ACE Lumbermart Thunder & Lightning and Strictly Hydraulics Legends.

The competition is tight in these four competitive stock car racing divisions. Danny Harvey (Lantz) won the last Strictly Hydraulics Legend car feature beating defending champion Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake) in a photo finish. “Rational” Richard Patrick (Halifax) is still riding high off his first career feature win in the ACE Lumbermart Lightning division. Kyle MacMillan (Hammonds Plains) and Adam Meehan (Rawdon) will carry perfect records into their races in the ACE Lumbermart Thunder and Hydraulics Plus Bandolero classes after winning all of their heats and features in their respective divisions to kick off the season. These two will be challenged by dozens of other hungry drivers looking to take home the checkers on AMP Energy Night.

Adult admission for Friday’s AMP Energy Night is just $12.00; Youth (8-15) are $2.00 and children 7 and under are free…all summer long! Tickets are available at the gate on race day (cash only). Grandstand gates open at 5:00 PM with racing action slated to get underway at 7:00 PM.

Saturday night will see the second appearance of the season at Scotia Speedworld for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. The Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman Series and the Coors Light Truck divisions will serve as the undercard for the Lockhart Truck Center 150, which is round three of 12 on the popular touring series. The action on Saturday goes green at 5:10 PM for the Atlantic Tiltload Pro Stock Time Trials with qualifying slated to begin at 6:00 PM.
