DARTMOUTH DODGE DELIVERS
SPORTSMAN SERIES IN 2012

May 9 , 2012) Scotia Speedworld is pleased to announce that Dartmouth Dodge and “Atlantic Canada’s Action Centre” have partnered once again to present the Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman Series in 2012. The Sportsman division at Scotia Speedworld is the highest level of competition on the Weekly Racing Series ladder at the 3/10-mile oval and has produced some of the finest stock car racers and champions this region has ever seen. Sportsman cars are built from the ground up for fast paced excitement and high speeds, making them one of the fan favorites of the Weekly Racing Series.

In addition to the title sponsorship of the Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman Series, Dartmouth Dodge has come on board for two exciting nights of racing this season. The Sportsman 100 Presented by Dartmouth Dodge is the marquee event for the Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman Series and takes place the night before the Atlantic CAT 250 for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour on Friday, August 10th. Last season, Frankie Fraser (Shubenacadie, NS) won his record setting third Sportsman 100 Presented by Dartmouth Dodge. Dartmouth Dodge’s Mopar Express Lane will also present the Weekly Racing Series program on Friday, July 6th and will feature appearances from the Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman Series, Strictly Hydraulics Legends, Jack Daniels Trucks, ACE Lumbermart Thunder and Lightning divisions.

The Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman Series gets the green flag on Sunday, May 27th during the 25th Birthday Bash for Scotia Speedworld. Registrations are coming in at a rapid pace for the division and include all the top drivers from 2011, including two-time champion Jeff Dillman (Middle Musquodoboit), Rookie of the Year Russell Smith Jr. (Lakeside) and Aaron Boutilier (Porter’s Lake), who put on an incredible battle all the way down to the last laps of the 2011 season. In fact, Dillman and Smith ran that battle down to the wire driving Sportsman cars with the Dodge insignias on their chariots!
