Scotia Speedworld celebrated its grand opening in May 1988 - and was immediately tagged Atlantic Canada's Action Centre. Constant improvements have been made to keep with the times and as a result, the track is a favourite for racers and spectators. The racing surface is wide and fast, lending itself to door-handle-to-door-handle excitement for all divisions. The access and exit ramps between the pit area and the track, combined with a large staging area, make for congestion free transition "behind the scenes".
Scotia Speedworld is conveniently located opposite Halifax Stanfield International Airport and is easily accessed from the adjacent Highway 102 - the main route to and from Halifax - the capital of Nova Scotia.
The main grandstand comfortably seats more than 4,000 spectators while the separate pit grandstand another 1,000. Both areas provide a complete and constant view of the entire racing surface.
Free parking is plentiful for both the main grandstand and pit area.
Campers are welcome and sites are free (no services)
In addition to our primary function, hosting auto-racing entertainment, Scotia Speedworld is available for commercial rentals as well as for race team practice sessions. For more information on rentals please click “Rentals” at the top of the home page.
Scotia Speedworld has assisted in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities since 2002. The Dartmouth District Shrine Club handles all 50/50 ticket sales at Scotia Speedworld.
