TOURSEC THUNDER & LIGHTNING TWIN 50’s UP NEXT FOR WEEKLY RACING SERIES

(Halifax, NS. July 12, 2017) The Toursec Thunder & Lightning cars will take centre stage at Scotia Speedworld this week as they do battle for 50 exciting laps each in the Toursec Twin 50’s. Also racing under the lights this Friday are the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros and the Pulse Heavy Duty Trucks. Grandstand gates open at 5:00 PM with racing action set for 7:00 PM.

The Toursec Twin 50 races are the biggest race events of the year for the Toursec Thunder and Lightning divisions. The Thunder division has seen a fight for the point championship with two-time champion Dave Matthews (Kennetcook) leading the field into Friday night's 50-lap feature. Scott Thibodeau (Williamswood) has the lead in the Lightning point standings.

The Toursec Thunder division has seen three different winners in four races with Tim Webster (Beaver Bank) being the only repeat winner in 2017. Nic Baker (Middle Sackville) scored his first career win in June with Matthews going to victory lane on Strictly Hydraulics Night.

Steve Matthews (Bedford) is the only two-time Toursec Lightning winner on the year, joining point leader Thibodeau and brothers Deven and Jorden Smith (Lakeside) as feature winners in five feature races thus far in 2017.

Admission for the Toursec Twin 50’s is just $15.00 for Adults; Youth (8-15) are $5.00 and children 7 and under are free…all summer long! Tickets are available at the gate on race day.
