SCOTIA SPEEDWORLD JACKED FOR WEEKLY RACING SERIES ACTION THIS FRIDAY NIGHT

(Halifax, NS – July 26, 2011)After a week off due to rain, Scotia Speedworld’sWeekly Racing Series returns this Friday for Jack Daniel’s Night! Racing under the lights this week will be; the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros, ACE Lumbermart Thunder and Lightning, Strictly Hydraulics Legends and the Jack Daniel’s Trucks. Adult admission for the Weekly Racing Series is just $12.00; Youth (8-15) are $2.00 and children 7 and under are free…all summer long! Tickets are available at the gate on race day. Grandstand gates open at 5:00 PM with racing action slated to get underway at 7:00 PM.

Small in size, the Jack Daniel's Truck division is one of the most competitive and action packed divisions of the Weekly Racing Series. Made up of a mix of young guns and crafty veterans all looking for the checkered flag, the division redefines the phrase "high speed tailgating."We have had five different winners in the class this season, led up by 2011 champion JP Arsenault (Church Point). While he may have one more win, he still sits second by three points to the lead Dan Smith (Lower Sackville). Consistency has put Eastern Passage driver Jason Fenton in third in the standings with Kyle Gammon (Middle Sackville) and Derek Sutherland (Dartmouth) completing the top five in the standings and within striking distance of the three. Ryan Goldsmith (Bridgewater), two-time feature winner in 2012 Vernon Brown (Antrim), Cale and Jim MacMillan (Halifax) complete the field of trucks in the division.

About Jack Daniels:
The Jack Daniel Distillery is the oldest registered distillery in the U.S. and is where all the magic happens. It’s where Mr. Jack first crafted the recipe for Old No. 7. It’s where the pure, iron-free cave spring water flows. And it’s where every drop of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Sippin’ Whiskey is still made today.
