Finale Friday Four Cylinder Fifty Frenzy Forthcoming
Folks, we don’t call them “The BEST Four Cylinder Drivers in Atlantic Canada” for nothing!

If you don’t believe me, you can find out why they have earned that name this Friday night. The two four cylinder classes at the Speedworld will go fender-to-fender in twin fifty lap events in their “Finale Friday” races to crown two 2010 titlists. Yes, the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros and the Trucks will be in attendance racing in their penultimate point race but this weekend the spotlight will be on the Thunder and Lightning classes presented by Tirecraft!

    Tirecraft Twin 50’s and Final Kiddies Rides on Tap for Scotia Speedworld this Friday Night
    Scotia Speedworld’s Weekly Racing Series will crown Champions this Friday night in the Tirecraft Thunder and Lightning divisions. Both four cylinder classes will have 50 laps to battle for the final points of the season and at the end of the night two Champions will emerge. Also seeing action under the lights on Friday are the Trucks and Hydraulics Plus Bandolero cars. Prior to Weekly Racing Series action kids will have an opportunity to go for a ride in a racecar with their favorite driver in the final Kiddies Rides of the 2010 season. Gates open at 5:00pm; Kiddie Rides will take place on track at 7:00pm sharp.

    NASCAR Legend Ken Schrader to Join Pro Stock Tour Field for Season Finale!


    NASCAR Superstar Ken Schrader will join a talented field of Pro Stock Tour drivers at Scotia Speedworld for the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour Season Finale, the Parts for Trucks 200, on Saturday, September 11th. The NASCAR veteran will go to battle at the 3/10 mile oval located just outside of Halifax, NS in the # 10 Parts for Trucks sponsored Chevrolet out of the Steven Henderson shop in Truro, NS. Henderson fields the Dexter Construction / Municipal Contracting sponsored Chevrolet of current CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour Champion Shawn Turple. Tickets for the Parts for Trucks 200 are on sale now at all Ticket Atlantic Locations and will also be available at the gate on race day.

    Roma Subject Of Front Page Herald Article



    The Chronicle Herald’s Monty Mosher has a great story about Terry Roma’s ongoing battle with cancer in today’s edition of the paper. Regulars at Scotia Speedworld know Roma as the pilot of the # 38 Sportsman car and a two time divisional champion at the Halifax track. Roma is set to battle his fellow Sportsman competitors in the Shriner’s Classic 50-lap feature this Saturday night.

    Hats off to Roma for sharing his story and for Mosher for capturing Terry’s spirit and outlook in the article.

    • Speedworld Test N Tune Successful - Now Onto Raceday

    There is a lot that can happen from nine to five as most know. This timeframe on Sunday was set aside for the Weekly Racing Series boys and girls to shake down their racecars for the upcoming 2010 race season. I had the opportunity to be at the track, not only take in some of the action but to get some of the stories before the first big green flag of the summer.
